Competition to be based on 400th anniversary musical theme
A sound track is specially designed for the 400th anniversary. It will be used and presented, at the opening of each fireworks program, as a key theme for the competing teams of summer 2008. Following this opening highlight, the competitors selected will present their regular show. These performers will be selected from among the best on the international circuit and will have the honour of paying tribute to the Old City on this unique anniversary.
An exclusive jury will be chosen after a public call for participants. It will have the job of giving special mention to the team, among the five competing countries, whose performance best expresses and is most harmonious with the musical theme.
A dazzling Grand Finale
On August 6, 2008, against the grandiose backdrop of Montmorency Falls Park, the public will see a Grand Finale that has been specially crafted for Québec City’s 400th anniversary. Indeed, it will be specifically designed and staged for the 400th anniversary theme. This closing night promises to be a breathtaking sound and light experience.
The 14th edition of the Loto-Québec International Fireworks Competition will run from July 19 to August 6, 2008. The night sky will be livelier than ever with new features and themes representing Québec City on the occasion of its 400th anniversary celebrations.
